Who Writes Those Love Songs?

I hate these darned love songs... especially the ones sung by men. Aargh! Is that the only place we're going to find men who're all devoted to the one they're singing about? She's always the most beautiful girl in the world and they have eyes only for her. No one else can take her place and until the ocean doesn't touch the sand, he will always be her man....because she took his breath away and now he can see his unborn children in her eyes.

Oh please!

Where are all these men in real life? Hiding in the arms of their glorious lovers (where they also want to die, according to the songs). Or stuck in recording studios making those darn love songs?

'Cause lets see... most of the available women I know all agree that most of the guys that are around are either taken, do not wish to be taken unless it's that kind of taken, or they do this little Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing . You know the thing - when you're just friends, 'like' each other and all that, they're all sweetness and light till you go out with them, they forget all about you. Which is so weird because that's when you seem to do your best to live in his direct field of vision all the time.

But to be completely fair, some of those awesome guys do come out of the studios once in a while. Like someone I know told me that she was wearing these new shoes and walking with her boyfriend and soon she has these horrible shoe bites. So they went into one of those big department stores and bought a box of Band-Aids. She was hobbling out to find somewhere she could sit and put them on, when she saw that he was still standing there. She was a bit annoyed and asked what the problem was. He said nothing, just walked over to her, took a Band-Aid, knelt down in the middle of the store, took her shoe off, and put the Band-Aid on for her. He stood back up, said something funny to her and started to walk out. She, on the other hand, was almost in tears, like he'd been on bended knee asking her to marry him or singing his latest love song to her. Awesome huh?

Ok. So maybe there is hope for the rest of us yet.
