Is Professional Karaoke For Me?
By Johnny Stewart

I do a seminar called Karaoke kollege. It is dedicated to those who think they would like to become a karaoke host. But I know there will be good information for all karaoke singers.

In this series of articles I will cover many important aspects of karaoke hosting. These steps include:

1. What kind of equipment to buy.
2. How to build a good basic set
up.
3. How to build a great set up.
4. How to run karaoke
equipment.
5. How to keep a show running
smoothly.
6. How to market your show.
7. How to run a fair show.
8. How to contract a show.
9. How to talk to prospective
clients.
10. How to find a show.
11. Questions regarding
insurance.
And more.

Let's take it a step at a time. The first step is to decide why you want to do this. Here are some reasons. Please circle the number of the reasons that appeal to you.

Reasons:
1. I want to sing more often. So
I'll do my own show.
2. I would like a better-run show
than I've seen anywhere. So
I'll do one.
3. I hate my day job.
4. I enjoy people.
5. I love music.
6. Maybe I'll get discovered.
7. K.J.s make a lot of money.
8. It looks like easy work.
9. All of my friends will like me
because I will let them sing as
much as they want.
10. K.J.s always get the chicks (or
guys.)

I'm sure you have other reasons as well. But are these all good reasons. Think about it.

I'll have more information in the next issue. And look forward to the next live Karaoke Kollege Seminar coming soon.
