Get to Know Leslie Connolly-Stewart

With over 20 years in the Public Relations industry, Leslie's resume includes the position of Special Event Coordinator with Forever Yours promotions from 1979-1990. Special events were held at the Disneyland Hotel, the Inn at the Park Hotel and at the landmark restaurants.

A degree in Communications, with an emphasis in the Public Relations field accounts for her success as an Account Executive with the Doris Chandler Agency in Orange County. Leslie's clients included; Antonios (Santa Ana), La Opera (Long Beach), Royal Thai (Newport Beach), and the Cattleman's Wharf (Anaheim).

Leslie joined the ProMediaMaster staff in October 1997 and the San Diego Scene staff in January 1998. In August 2000, Leslie married San Diego Scene owner and editor, Johnny Stewart.

Leslie adheres to the traditions of her mentors, Ralph Nager Phd and Rolf Rudenstam by channeling her education, talent and compassion into her role as a volunteer. "Giving back to the community is an important part of ones life and a must for a community based magazine."

As San Diego Scene's Marketing Director, it's Leslie's responsibiltiy to meet the magazine's moral committment by researching, writing and printing articles supporting non profit organizations that serve San Diego County and the surrounding communities. Fundraisers for organizations such as the Guild for Infant Survival, Inc. which provides funding for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) awareness capaigns have been highlighted in the Scene.

Leslie has also organized and implemented the Kids Cancer Connection's "Tree For Life" fundraising event. Kids CanerConnection is a non profit organization that promotes the reintegration of children with cancer back into the classroom.
