Showcase Spotlight on Mike Hynds

By Alyssa

The person being showcased was Mike Hynds and he did such a wonderful job!  He started off the showcase with a real "bang" (‘scuse the pun) singing "She Bangs", which got the whole crowd clapping, singing along & jamming!

He then sang a couple of patriotic songs that had everybody singing along.  First was "God Bless The USA".  Nicole and I brought out the big American flag and held it up behind him.  I saw lots of flashes, so hopefully some of them will later appear on Nicole's website.  It was definitely a glorious moment.  He dedicated "Where Were You" to all those lost during the tragic attack on Sept 11 last year. He then addressed some of the world's problems with a great execution of "What if She's An Angel".

Mike's family was there - his "karaoke family" as well as his mother, and grandparents who hadn't heard him sing before.  I think they had every reason to be proud of their grandson!!  His fiancé, Margarita and her cousin were also there. Mike also sang Enrique Iglesia's "Hero"  - specially dedicated to Margarita.  I swear I saw what looked like joyful tears forming in her eyes! After that he sang some of the best Country love songs like "Keeper of the Stars", a couple from Lonestar and one from Steve Holy.

The final ending of Mike's showcase was monumental!  He received a standing ovation, with the crowd begging for more...  And what did everyone want him to sing? ... You guessed it - everybody's favorite, "She Bangs"!  He did his finale song with great gusto!!  With the crowd cheering on enthusiastically!

Anyone who wasn't there really missed a good show!!  Well done Mike!!  We're all so proud of you!!
