Now that millions are hooked up to the world via the Internet, they are looking for information fast. If you want karaoke and entertainment information fast check out: www.sandiegoscene.com. Sandra Miller-Long, CEO and founder of "WunderWebs" is responsible for the new look of San Diego Scene Online.

Sandra (WebGoddess) Miller-Long has kept things sweet and simple. The main menu is very easy to use; if you can’t find what you are looking for in the main menu, all you have to do is use the site search engine. It only takes a key word or two and you can find that elusive article.

Speaking of articles, www.sandiegoscene.com has become an excellent forum for writers new and old. SDS encourages writers to submit articles about anything as well as karaoke. The only thing asked is that the articles follow the SDS mission statement: "To inform, entertain and stimulate the karaoke community."

Sandra is also our newspaper Editor and Staff Writer.Along with her responsibility for creating web sites for many clients, she finds time to dedicate herself to the karaoke movement. She stays well informed, scurrying around the local clubs as well as the World Wide Web finding information having to do with karaoke related subjects.

As a web designer Sandra Miller-Long is, as the term says, a Designer.Mrs. Miller-Long has a great sense of"form following function."Everything is where it should be.Her sense of marketing is very much to the point as well. The viewer is not distracted by unnecessary bells and whistles. Her sites make the sale for many of her web clients not for herself.

Says Ms. Miller-Long, "Most Web designers want to be cutting-edge. They want to use the latest WOW-worthy techniques to have the maximum impact on viewers. OK, that's understandable, and oftentimes they can convince a business that having a high-tech site is the way to go."

"The way I see it, if you're selling a high-end product and want to limit your audience as a marketing strategy, then go ahead and let your web designer use every possible Plug-In and browser-enhancement. You won't mind losing the less savvy web-users, or those who haven't upgraded their computer for a couple of years."

"But if you are a small to medium sized businesses who wants a web-presence, and you want the site to work for everyone, you’ll need a website that communicates directly and effectively with your visitor and potential customers. I design for people who want websites that work for everyone."

Not to say Sandra does not employ some bells and whistles. She is a strong advocate of Java Script, Flash, animation gifs and other media techniques to attract attention to areas, which need attention, not too much to take attention away.

She says she is self-taught. I think she had a great teacher. Check out her article I want a website, what do I do next? in this issue explaining exactly what you need in simple terms to host your own website.

Besides redesigning San Diego Scene Online, Sandra has done several excellent web sites for many clients including karaoke hosts and enthusiasts such as Gerry Woo, Jason Cuba, Just Sing It Karaoke, "Elena Grooves", and Jack Costanzo.
